What we do
Six kinds of job, one set of standards.
Most of the week is domestic work across the valleys. The rest is everything a house scaffold is not: high street frontages, chapel elevations, roofs you cannot walk on and structures with nothing to tie into.
Shop and pub fronts
High street frontage designed round the pavement, so the doors stay open, the public keep walking past and the job still gets done.
Churches and heritage
Full height, multi lift access to tall stone and brick elevations. Chapels, spires and gable ends where there is no easy way up.
Industrial and commercial roofs
Decked out access over plant, ducting and fragile roof sheets, so trades can work across a roof without putting a foot through it.
Birdcage and independent scaffold
Free standing structures for when there is nothing to tie into. Sheeted and temporary roofed if the work underneath has to stay dry.
Edge protection and safety
Guardrails, toe boards, brick guards and debris netting. Every job goes up boarded, signed and fit to work off.

Range
Not just houses.
Plenty of scaffolders stop at domestic. In one set of photographs off our own Google listing there is a chapel elevation in Blackwood, a monument in the middle of Caerphilly with the castle behind it, a high street pub front with the pavement kept open, and a deck out over an industrial roof.
Different buildings, different problems, same tubes and fittings. If you have been told a job is awkward, it is worth a phone call before you take that as final.

About
Three Williamses and a yard in Bedwas.
Hammer Scaffolding is a family business. Ivor, Jill and Byryn Williams are all named directors, appointed the same day, with nobody having left since. The yard is on Bedwas House Industrial Estate and the work stays local.
The limited company was registered in March 2020, though there are reviews on the Google listing from the year before that. Ivor is the name customers tend to use when they ring.

Every scaffold goes up with a site safety notice and our board on it, so anyone on site knows whose structure they are working off and who to ring if something needs moving.
